GENERAL:
Platte Canyon Little League (PCLL) is a chartered Little League International program. We comply with all Little League rules, regulations, and policies.
Little League baseball rules are designed to prioritize player safety, learning, and enjoyment. Some rules vary by division as noted below, and PCLL may take liberties with modifying rules within certain divisions in order to best serve our players.
BATS:
All bats must meet the USA Baseball Bat Standard. Look for the following logo stamped on the bat. If the bat does not have the logo, it is not legal for use in Little League sanctioned games.

PLAYER AGE:
Your player's age according to Little League International is determined by using the following age chart: Little League Age Charts
DIVISIONAL RULES:

PITCH COUNTS:
Pitch count limits are enforced for the safety of young arms. The below table is a summary of the limitations, however, please reference the detailed Little League Pitch Count Rules for additional clarity.

TEE BALL:
- Games have a 1-hour time limit.
- Every player in the lineup will bat each inning and there are no strikeouts.
- The final batter each inning will hit a home-run and run all of the bases. This player should be rotated each inning.
- Once the ball is hit into play, the runner and all other runners on base will advance 1 base.
- While outs are not recorded for the purpose of ending an inning, when an out is made, the runner shall leave the field and return to the dugout.
- All players will participate in a defensive position on the field. No catcher is used.
- Soft tee-balls must be used, rather than hard baseballs.
COACH PITCH:
- Games have a 1-hour 30-minute limit.
- Every player in the lineup will bat each inning.
- The final batter each inning will hit a home-run and run all of the bases. This player should be rotated each inning.
- Each player will receive up to 8 pitches. If the batter fails to make contact on the 8th pitch, the batter will be out and return to the dugout. There are no walks.
- Fielding outs are called as normal and once a team reaches three outs, the bases are cleared, but batting continues through the remainder of the batting order.
- Score is not kept.
- No base stealing or leadoffs. The player must remain on the base until the batter makes contact with the ball.
- The offensive base coaches shall act as umpires.
SINGLE A (A):
- Games have a 1-hour 30-minute limit.
- Single A is a "modified" kid-pitch division. The youth pitcher will begin each at-bat and complete the at-bat UNLESS: The count reaches 4 balls, or the batter is hit by a pitch. At this point, the coach of the offense will pitch to the batter with the current strike-count until the batter hits a ball into play or strikes out. The strike count shall be reset to zero only if the batter is hit by a pitch by the youth pitcher. Batters are not entitled to reach base on walks in this division.
- Batters may not advance past second base (double) on a hit off of a coach-pitched ball.
- Pitchers may only pitch one inning per game.
- No base stealing or leadoffs. The player must remain on the base until the batter makes contact with the ball. Runners may only advance one base on an overthrown ball in play. Runners may not advance any base upon possession by an infielder.
- The offensive base coaches and pitching coach shall act as umpires.
AA-Seniors:
- The upper divisions follow more traditional baseball rules. Please reference tables above for specific notes on rules by division.
